I've just had my kitchen refitted and some electrical work was done including the fitting of a new ring main.

I have just one question - should I have received a certificate to say that the new electrics are safe?

Thanks.

Yes, an Electrical Installation Certificate.
You should also receive a Part P certificate unless you're in Scotland.

Have you asked your electrician for a certificate?
Some only pass them on after receiving payment.

If the electrician was Part P registered, then he should have tested the electrics and issued you with a certificate.
Otherwise he should have informed the Local Council and on completion they would send someone to certify the work.

When did you have the work done?

Give the poor sod some time before you go in all guns blazing!

Many thanks for the replies.

The work was finished before Christmas so he's had more than a month to sort it out, I think I've been quite patient!
