Hi

I hope someone can help me out with this..

I've been doing property maintenance for about 10 years (I'm 29 now)

Previously I worked for a guy that was an electrician, so he did the main electrical stuff and I just ran new cables, wired in lights, sockets etc etc and he just checked it.
So I feel competent with that stuff.

I never touched main boards, so I don't know much about them.

I'm no longer working with him and I'd like to qualify for the "NicEic Domestic Installer Scheme" so I can carry out basic wiring work without getting the council involved.

So I was wondering. With starting from nothing. What courses should I take and in what order?

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Joseph

Decide on the scheme you want to join - you said NICEIC but there are also others - NAPIT and ELECSA for instance.
Go on their websites and look at joining qualifications

It's all listed there.

Good luck
