Electrician put extractor fan venting into loftspace

Cheers guys, I'd do it myself if it were not for the regs.

Although that said - can I do it myself? The fan will be outside of zones (about 2 meters from the bathtub/shower)?

Why should you??

On principle, I would hammer this guy.

This pdf mentions "atmosphere" which implies the fan extracts to the outside.

If he has not done that, he has not followed the instructions.

I would take a series of photos, email them to him and ask him what he proposes, at no cost to yourself, to make the installation compliant.

Tell him if you are not FULLY satisfied with his responses, or any subsequent remedial work that you will present your findings to the NIC.

Although, thinking about it, if you paid another company and they employed the "electrician", then it is them you should approach to rectify the work, not the spark directly. Legally, your contract is with the company you paid to do the work.
