Is it safe/acceptable to run a mains electric cable next to a gas pipe? (Or even cable tied to it?)
Also is there a minimum distance that a socket must be away from a gas connection?
thanks in advance.

you should not tie a electic cable to a gas pipe, the cable should have its own support / fixing obviously electricity will nort "leak" so yes you can

and no there isnt

from the gas reg side there should be a minimum 25mm.

most people would have that much so when clipping cable the dont hit gas pipe with hammer
