please excuse my ignorance, because in terms of electrics thats what i am !!
Recently moved into house and doing it up, already had a new fuse box installed and electrics in the kitchen.
Now in the hall, we discover that the front doorbell - has been wired from heavy duty mains coming from the ceiling - thought this odd but it has then been converted to a plug socket. - have to admit i have used this for tools when doing the work.
When decorating decided to change light rose etc, Im safe doing that ! but on switching mains on the socket no longer works.
Is is possible that this could be coming of the lights? and is this safe. what should i now do, have it removed or checked?
