Can anyone advise on the relative merits of contract matt, vinyl matt and "paint for new plaster", for mist coats on plasterboard?

In particular, say I am going to finish with white vinyl matt. I can save quite a bit of cash by just buying one big tub of that, and also using it diluted for the mist coat, rather than buying smaller tubs of different products. Is there any disadvantage of doing that?

I have in fact already done one mist coat using diluted vinyl matt and it looks OK, though I have yet to apply top coats.

Thanks.

I give the plaster a quick sand with the finest paper where there are imperfections.

Then I wipe over with a very slightly damp microfibre cloth.

Then I mist coat with Dulux Trade Matt emulsion watered down 15%.
