Hi all

I have a bit of a random question...

Instead of using a door contact on the front door to initiate the entry/exit timer delay... is it possible to use a PIR to do the same thing?

I appreciate this is not ideal...so I am just wondering whether this is something anyone has ever done before and if so, what setting(s) were used?

Thanks in advance!

Yes it can be done.
Door contacts start the timer as soon as door opened.
Pir start timer when movement is picked up.
You could possible get to control panel before timer starts.
I advise where possible always us a door contact.

Thanks for the quick response.

I assume you couldn’t use the same PIR to wake up from “night time mode settings” vs when you are walking in from outside? Or would that be the same setting for both?

You will need to make sensor final entry exit and also make it timed.
This will be a timed circuit where full set or part set.
