Engine lifting beam In workshop

I been looking for one to help remove the engine from my vintage car. Can't find one anywhere!!!

Would you not be better off with a U beam style steel beam, whereby the lifting tackle can roll along the beam?
That was my first thought.

Although could also use a block and chain with a beam clamp, still movable.

The original idea of using a flitch beam would work, but it might be cheaper to just add an additional timber, or use 8x3 (or 9 or 10x3)

The timber can be notched on the bottom at each end so that it matches the height of the existing, if there is a floor above.
