Is it just a case of taking a faulty pcb out and replacing it with the new one?

Aye it is mate, may even do it meself if its not too taxing.
What does it entail & is there anything risky involved?
I've bought the new modified one (pt no 5111603) with the harness, control panel etc.

Ian, I changed mine once a while ago in my last house on a potterton boiler.
At the time i was working in marconi so i was used to handling pcb boards day in day out.
Few points to remember!
1)turn off all power to system.
2)clearly mark were you take things from, pcb boards are just simple plugs nothing to daunting.
3) handle pcb with care, the static from your body can blow the delicate components, always handle the side of the board not the centre.
At the time i had anti static straps heel and wrist, ages since i worked on them so i cant think of a suitable substitute for you to use.
Let me know how you get on
