Please be gentle, 1st Post and all....
I'm in a 6th Floor (top floor) Flat for the last 4 years from new. Base floor is concrete.
Currently I am planning on replacing the Lounge/Kitchen and hallway flooring to Engineered oak flooring.
When removing the existing carpet & vinyl (in kitchen area) flooring, we found that the both floorings had been glued to the concrete screed and when taking up the carpet & vinyl it to lifted up most of the screed.
A few questions -
To level the floor again, could I glue 12mm Ply to the concrete sub-floor?
The plan is to lay 2mm underlay on top of the ply and then float the wood floor on top.
Also I would like to lay electric underfloor heating in the main lounge/kitchen area mainly to take the chill of in the winter months and to get rid of the bulky night storage heaters I have currently. Last winter I only used the heaters over 2 nights.
Would it be possible to incorporate this in to the current plan above?
Any advise/help would be most appreciated.
