Hi

I about to install engineered timber flooring and was wondering what happens at a step edge that we have which intersects the space in terms of expension. The flooring laid up to the edge will be about 3.5m wide and the edge is about 5m long. The flooring down the step will be tile.

I was planning to use something like the flooring. Do I just glue this and allow it to expand out? Doest sound to me like it would weather too many accidental toe kicks.

Has anyone got any tips on colour matching a wood stain or lacquer for this to the flooring we got, we need to find a medium dark with slight bronze finish. Does anywhere colour match this type of finish?

Thanks in advance

Strip the existing finish (if any). Stain to the required colour to get a match, then clear lacquer over the top
