I used to follow a rock group called The Lords of the New Church, who were led by singer Stiv Bators. They were a fractious bunch, always falling out. In the end, it was rumoured that the group were going to sack Stiv. At the last moment of their final concert, Stiv turned to the other members and sacked them all publicly, and announced 'You have just seen the last Lords of thd New Church show'. Starmer must have been a fan, because that is what he is doing now.
