"Woke" is from America - and was around long before the Daily Mail got hold of it. It's more of a Guardian word.

(Guardian = voice of the British establishment; Daily Mail = voice of the British working class).

Well, I don't consider myself Right wing in anyway, but I still think it's an incredibly daft use or misuse of a word. Then again, I'm not really gonna get my "knickers in a twist" over it either.
