Hi Markie,
you could try deleting your temporary files cache, this sometimes helps

tools/internet options/delete temp files.

as the PC has slowed up it does sound like a memory block at the time of IE starting up and if the clearing of the temp files doesn't work then you may have to reclaim memory by changing display settings and reducing the colours option to a lower setting.
visit Microsofts site for more advice.

One of the common causes for this, and particularly when the PC is running slow, is spyware. It could also be caused by damaged IE files and bad housekeeping.

I would start by performing a disk cleanup and defrag, just to get rid of any unnecessary files and to make things generally more efficient. Then download something like Spybot Search and Destroy (there are many others...), get all the updates and run a scan. You could also do an online scan with Norton, which will also pick up any nasties (It only scans, but will indicate any problems)

You could also disable script debugging, but this will only mask the problem.

Also have a look here and here for more possibilities.

Igorian how do you defrag. pc dunce :)

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter.

It's worth doing a Disk Cleanup first. It's on the same menu.
