Hi ihave just got a 1996 ford escort. The interior light works manually but not on any of the door switches .have checked the fuse which is OK Looking in the hand book it should have a 20sec delay after closing the door,any ideas please?

Not that have already checked. Could it be a relay?

Could be all the door switches, they corrode with age and don't make contact, try prising one out and earthing it. A good scrape down to bare metal and a coat of grease will usually restore them, or you could try a squirt of WD40.
