Hi

This refers to single storey extension I already have which has a single pitched roof.

I want to estimate the pitch of the roof. If I measure from brick level at the eaves (ie the top brick I can see at this level) to the top of the highest brick where it meets my original house will this be quite accurate?

Thanks

The pitch of any sloping roof can be determined by drawing a plumb and a horizontal line from points on that slope thus forming a right angle triangle with the hypotenuse being the rafter.

Using trig' you can then get the exact pitch.

...Or put an angle finder on the rafter! :p
