Eurozone in trouble.

Motty is correct the Eurozone including the UK has structural issues, is facing the daunting prospect from the fallout of the US China trade war which is hurting exporters the most in Japan, Taiwan, Germany.

However the assessment once we leave the EU we will be insulated from the troubles is totally incorrect and stupid.

We will be more exposed.

Motty and the Brexers applaud a global downturn. They think it makes the UK's woes more acceptable and then they can point their finger at Germany and say 'look they are rubbish too'.

Brexer mentality - you could not make it up.

They think that if their is a recession by not being in the EU we will not face the headwinds.

I suppose I would put it like this. The EU and UK are in a boat together and it starts to take in water, the UK decides to jump out but without a life vest.

Would that mean that the EU would definitely go under but the UK might swim and survive? If so, what would you chose to do - sink or swim?

Since the UK is deliberately embarking on a policy of self harm, and is steering towards the iceberg, that could mean that the UK would definitely go under but the EU might swim and survive. If so, what would you chose to do - sink or swim?

Oh no it isn’t. The UK is divided on an important issue and is trying to find a path. There is no deliberate self harm.

You’ll be better at convincing people you’re right, if you understand both sides of an argument rather than assume everyone who disagrees is wrong/stupid.

Make your mind up. Earlier you said we'd jumped ship without a lifeboat and now you're saying we're steering it towards the iceberg! How can we do that whilst we're in the sea, treading water, watching the ship sail on towards the iceberg? Are you suggesting that without the UK, the EU is a rudderless ship?

Would you rather be adrift without a lifevest or in a leaky boat?

No deal is an act of self harm.
Is the drop in pound value since the election anything but self harm.

Lets be honest about Brexit, the Tory government is not interested in honest arguments about Brexit. The Tory party is 100% motivated to save the Tory party. Nothing else.

The UK is indeed divided on an issue. But that issue isnt being dicussed or argued by Tory leaders with any level of honesty whatsoever.

It is very difficult to have an open and honest debate when the government in power and its right wing media are following a path of dishonesty.

It is much easier to win Brexit aguments with jingoistic soundbites like 'get back control', its far harder to explain in reasoned detail the benefits of frictionless trade etc etc.

I do agree that the narrative that one side is thick and wrong has no benefit in debate It is true that the remain side do have higher education levels, but that doesnt mean greater intelligence, it just means more young people voted remain.

Apologies. Just thought this would be too much of a mouthful for a title:

"European Central Bank in an attempt to kick-start a lacklustre eurozone economy and stave off recession."

That better for you?

Notch is jealous of you as your the new pin up boy. Notchy used to be the pin up boy until we got a sniff of his little games.
