While much of Australia may be like thatThe films of Australia so long flat straight roads, so I can see how miles per kW will change Australia to UK for all vehicles, not just electric.
(and Melbourne and Adelaide ARE relatively flat - with grid pattern streets
as is Canberra - with a few straight "highways" but many "circuits"),
I can assure you that Sydney is anything but "Flat", especially the Eastern and Northern suburbs.
You may see Bondi Beach as flat (which it is) but access to it is via the slope of significant Hills.
[If you look at such cities on Google Earth, some Suburb names should indicate this.
In Sydney there is Bellevue Hill, Dover Heights, Surry Hills (spelled incorrectly - by a convict draftsman),
Killarney Heights, Allambie Heights, Balgowlah Heights - (in the North)
Baulkham Hills, Seven Hills, Mount Druitt - (in the West)
It is not until you pass Penrith that you reach a small Flood Plain.
After that, there are "The Blue Mountains" !!!!]
Also, Brisbane is full of hills, in fact it is built on one, with its outskirts being Fortitude Valley.
and suburbs of White Hill, Camp Hill, Green Slopes, Mount Gravatt etc.
The same applies all down the Eastern Seaboard - where the majority of the population live -
and
to Tasmania, which is all hills and valleys,
with the valleys being good places to dam and built hydro-electric power stations..
