Hi, thought I'd ask here not DIY as such as Id get a sparky, just asking question and seeing if it's remotely feasible or not at this stage

I have a detached garage, has lights and sockets in it. I was thinking of getting an EV at some point in next few years, so no major rush

I just didn't realise that my garage mightnit be equipped for it already, as I've only just started looking into things.

How feasible/expensive would it be to fit an EV on my garage, assuming I'd have to update the electrics in there, if it's a massive and very expensive task, I likely wouldn't do it.

For reference my garage is the one you can first see on the left.

Thanks!

Edit it won't let me add a photo, but my garage I have to walk through my back garden and theres other garages and parking outside for other residents there probably about 20/25 foot from my house

I very much doubt your existing electrical feed to the garage will be sufficient to cope with an EV charger

but telling how the cable is connected at the house end will clarify.

Is it on its own breaker? B16 ? etc
Fused off socket circuit. etc ?
