Even Keir doesn’t want 'open borders' to help the NHS.

I posted a link this week how the eu leaned on the Irish to follow orders on their monetary policy. Now Brussels is determining how they farm and yet the plonkers on here still see the eu as a comfort blanket to cling to.
Irrelevant post from gnat. Again

Are you familiar with Irish history JD? The English were the bast*rds, not anymore eh.

I believe it all started under Labour and Tony Blair with his education, education, education mantra and the banning of new grammar schools
Agreed

Blair wanted to level up opportunity so everybody could go to University.

The number of uni applications shot up and not surprisingly the Govt couldn’t afford the bill.

The biggest failing, in my opinion has been the focus on Academic Higher Education. It has left a big hole in vocational training in FE colleges, from engineering to bricklaying.

the NVQs of nowadays aren’t the same as City and Guilds of old.

Personally I think this shift has led to a drop in productivity.

Being a member would make it hard to prioritise training British citizens, as you are not allowed to have grants available for your own citizens that aren't available to other EU citizens.
Not really correct.

that only applies to tuition fees.

“This treatment does not necessarily apply to support or maintenance grants and loans”

My mistake. That was more aimed at general trades.
The failure is allowing free market supply and demand to dictate wages levels.

If businesses were forced to pay decent wages by collective wage bargaining and secure employment contracts then then there would be a problem of cheap Labour.

But you’ve voted Tory for years and they are responsible for getting rid of Unions.

So the cause of the problem is you.

I presume you support the RMT train strikes?

Do you mean you don't eat meat?
Your socialist principles seem to be a bit hit and miss. The Irish small holders were forced off their properties because of potato blight and the landed gentry took over their farms. Fast forward to today and the same is happening all over the eu.
Have you took time out to see what's happening in Holland?

the rich getting richer at the expense of the poor?

you put it down to the E U? I don't think that was the reasoning at the time of the potato blight.

2 +2 = 10 ?
