Everything is flickering

I've spoken to neighbours who have no problems.

Lights only seem to flicker at the back of the house rather than the front for some reason.

It happens early evening. Not always at the same time.

Flickering can last anything for a few seconds to 20 minutes or more.

Last night it was for almost 45 minutes.

Sorry for the late reply.

Turns out under the road outside - where they'd spliced next door's connection in wasn't watertight. They'd been having the same problem but hadn't dared say anything because the lad had wired the attic conversion.

LOL.

All fixed now and the road is all dug up and stuff.

Not ONE flicker tonight so far :D

Odd that your consumer unit was buzzing though - did anyone ever check that everything was tight and ok?

Now we have a right royal mess.

Two different problems and only one thread.

Aptsys. The original issue is closed. Putting in more suggestions don't help!

It would have been MUCH better if you had started your own topic rather than hijack someone else's.
But as we are here...

If the problem is only in part of your property then the fault/problem is inside your house. If you ahve onl;y one consumer unit then its possibly in there. You need to get a good electrician to come an look if there is a bad connection in the consumer unit or do some investigations.
