hi, ive taken the 2 cieling light sockets off as there were about 1970s, one from up the stair and one from down the stair in the hall way, now what ive done is bought 2 brand new ones at £1.99 each, first of all i had to make a bigger hole in the cieling to make the new sockets fit, now ive relized that there is 3 black wires and 1 yellow hanging out both holes.....WHERE DO THEY GO... on the new sockets ive got 7 screws on each. first 3 say N middle 3 say LOOP and the last 2 say L...............COULD YOU PLEASE HELP.............and to make things worse.......the light switch at the top has been taken off for some odd reason, and theres 3 yellow wires hanging out......where do they go....

Oh dear pc, you have broken the golden rule, Note all connections BEFORE removing them.
Take a look at the reference section as to how a two way lighting circuit operates, then purchase a multimeter and test which wire go where.
N.B. The ceiling rose will have 8 or 9 connections, 3 live, 3 neutral and two switched live plus an earth
