Evosta circulating pump, what's going on?

The manuals for these pumps are a bit baffling...

I think this is showing an error code -, flashing twice - in the casting a blocked rotor -, but when I isolate the pump and remove central plug, nothing else comes out.... In their trouble shooting videos you can remove a part and see the rotor...
Confused!

Oh, I now see that I can put a small screwdriver into central hole and turn rotor.... Feels completely free....

Pump off, taken it apart...

Spins freely... Though weirdly rusted inside.....

How old is it?

Was second hand to me... At least 5 years old. I've just replaced it....
