Hi, I am replacing an old back boiler with gravity HW and pumped CH with a mains pressure DHW system using a Megaflo tank and electric boiler for the CH. As the original tank was primatic, there was no expansion (f&e) tank for the CH. Is it better to fit a new F&E tank in the loft or put in an expansion vessel + relief valves, etc? It is a small system with only 8 rads if that makes any difference.

Any advice much appreciated.

I would always fit a sealed system where possible. There is less chance of air locks etc and the system should have a longer life span as the system water is not being aerated constantly in the f&e tank.
