I had the water off today finishing the plumbing in my new bathroom. Stoopidly I forgot about this and when I came to flush the porcelain telephone a second time nothing happened obviously. In the process I did push the button 2 or three times before the brain kicked in
Anyhoo, turned water back on, waited for cictern to fill, pushed button and.....nothing happened
Inspection revealed that the rubber flush diaphram had split into 2 halves. It appears that it is designed this way? It takes a while to deflate after a button push and a couple of quick pushes pumps it up to bursting point
Has anyone come across anything similar? It's the work of a few seconds to fix (once dug out of the cabinet) but I have another one the same waiting to go in the new bathroom and was wondering if there's a common fix to apply
