Hi,

Hope someone can help me with this one please ??

I've just bought a Texecom Elite 24 and it is much bigger than my old alarm panel. It won't fit where I have the old panel, so I may need to extend the 4/6 core cable to a more suitable place.

Soooo.....to get to the point........is it ok to extend the cables a metre or two by soldering them ?? Not being electrically minded, I wouldn't know if it affects voltages, resistance, etc ??

Cheers,
Graeme.

Yes you can extend the cables by soldering them or you could purchase a junction box and extend them using that.

Thanks for that Handymanjo, I didn't know there was such a thing as an alarm cable junction box. Had a quick Google, and that sounds ideal for what I need - Cheers (y)
