Hi there

We live in a row of old victorian cottages, and have noticed that the metal drainpipe that runs off the back of the house is quite short in comparison to the other houses, and the water that comes out of it is missing the guttering, and falls onto the brickwork on the side of the property which isn't in a great state. I therefore believe it needs extending, but not sure what the process involved is. Could anybody advise on the best method/process to extend this is?

Thanks

When you say metal, is it like an aluminium one that you could dent with a hammer or a solid cast iron one with big lugs?

The only way to do it is slice it off level at the bottom (with a hacksaw and loads of elbow grease), look for a cast iron to plastic rainwater adaptor and shove that on the end with a bit of plastic pipe.
