Extending cables

Fitted a Velux window over the weekend and there are a couple of cables running directly underneath. Cant be moved out of the way, so need to extend them.

I'm fine with extending the electric cable (using a 30A junction box), but what about the earth cable - assume this cant be extended similarly using a junction box?

Only thing in the direction it’s going is water.
It’s circa 6mm diameter
 
You could buy some Through crimps, Heat shrink & and extra cable to extend it but i suspect you haven't a Crimping tool to do this, there should be a marking on the side to say the exact size. Maybe call an electrician in this instance. Is that 1mm T&E for lighting?
 
I do have a crimping tool (somewhere) and some crimps. Thanks for the advice.
