extending cooker cable

I need to lower my cooker socket 5 inches.Is it ok to cut the cable from under the floor boards above and join a longer piece of 6mm cable with a 30A juction box

THATS FINE. JUST MAKE SURE IT IS DEFINATELY A 30AMP JUNCTION BLOCK USED AND THAT YOU GET THE CONNECTIONS NICE AND TIGHT.
