Extending out crazy paving ?

First question, how difficult is this?

Secondly, if you've already got crazy paving and want to extend out. Do you measure the square metreage then from that calculate the amount of hardcore and then mortar and cost of paving you'll need for that space?

This is the area. Was going to not bother with hardcore and put concrete first then the paving next. Gonna do it with a mate

Was going to use 300mm x 300 paving slabs . I reckon crazy paving would be hard to lay as to have them all the same level when they're different thicknesses would be difficult. I guess the stone is really expensive too
