I have a 1978 4xbed det house with a partial integral garage out to the front. I am thinking of either converting the garage into a dining room and from this forum I see £5-8K is the rough cost. I was thinking, in addition to this, of extending the upstairs bedroom out onto the top of the garage, making one of the double bedrooms big enough for either a walk-in wardrobe, possibly an ensuite, or even just a big soft sofa etc.
I know it is a vague question but any ideas on the cost. I would not be looking at having it done for a couple of years but would be interested to know what it would cost in today's market! I am pretty sure this would encroach on the existing roof of the house, and for info the garage is approx 3m x 6m.
