Hi all looking for some advice i have recently had planning accepted for double story extension

my current roof is a trussed roof. not sure on the pitch but i cant stand up in Attic.
for my extension am hoping to go for traditional roof with some velux in.

Anyone got any ideas how they would connect my existing roof to my extension roof will i need to take the whole roof off and put steel in etc.

This is my Existing roof

ps the upstairs windows had to be removed for planning to be accepted velux and window on the Gable was accepted

Pitched hipped roof running into existing with 2 valleys
Or thats the way I would have done it before I noticed your drawings.

Part of it would likely be stripped and valley lay boards nailed to the existing rafters, to take the bottom ends of the new rafters. The existing roof timbers shouldn’t need to change unless you want the loft spaces joined
