extensoin wiring

i want to know , does all the new wiring for my extension get routed under my new floor then under my existing floor to my consumer unit?

Have you asked the contractor that is wiring your extension?

It will be your resposibility to make sure things are to the relavant standards (the builder may be doing the work, and you may have got a local electrician) but it's you that has to ensure compliance

The council may require you to either have the work done by a 'certifier of construction' or someone that meets the standards of a coc

In England / Wales the council pay for inspection etc, in Scotland the home owner is responsible (as detailed above)

My local council spec (all Scottish councils should be the same, but Glasgow City Council can't be bothered to put the electrical guidance requirements on their website) this stops householsers getting nasty surprises.

If you are contracting the electrician directly make sure he is registered.
