Ok. I want to tile with majolica porcelain to border a wall cast metal fountainhead and basin that I am going to assemble myself. Just box frame the fountain area, the two sides and across the top, none on the bottom, and none touching any fountain components, so the fountain really has nothing to do with the discussion. This tile job should be enough for me, as I don't even qualify as an amateur yet, and it appears these pool grade tiles are expensive.

I live in Michigan. The exterior wall is concrete block and faces south.

My understanding from reading online is that with the right grade of porcelain this can be done, very carefully, but possible.

My first questions are these--

I gather there is no such thing as full body majolica porcelain, correct? Dream on....

I need to find grade 3 or better porcelain, correct? Suggested sites for best prices?

I will have many questions about adhering the tile correctly when the time comes, but I've done some reading to begin to understand.

I suppose this last question should have been my first. Is it possible, right? Without the tiles cracking and popping off? Some of you must have knowledge of porcelain tiles in a northern swimming pool or something similar, can they pass the test of time?

Thanks in advance.
