Is it ok to use acrylic primer undercoat on facia boards or is it better to use an oil based primer, they have been previousley painted but is a bit flaky, and should i use dulux weather shield gloss or is normal dulux gloss ok for outside? thx

Acrylic primer undercoat will not last outside on fascia boards. As the Timber expands and contracts witht he weather the paint will not be able to cope with this and will start to flake off. Better to use an oil based paint. Dulux Gloss is fine but the weather shield gloss is much better.

I was going to use an oil based undercoat after waterbased primer, would that make any difference?

The top coat is only as good as the first coat. If this is acrylic then you will have problems later.
