Hi, just moved into a house which has an outside PIR light that doesn't work. I have tested the lamp by putting it into an internal spot set-up and it is working fine. The switch is located directly behind the light in the inside passage way. The switch is a two gang as the second switch works the passage way light. There are four red wires on the back of the switch plate as follows.
1) Red connected to "A" (passage switch)
2) Red looped from "A" to R1 of PIR sensor light switch
3) Red connected A1 of passage switch
4) Red connected to "B" of PIR sensor light switch

The connections at the lamp fittings are correct and secure. They are
earth to earth
neutral to neutral
live to L
LS has no connection

Any help appreciated

i'm assuming that number 2 should read...

"2.Red looped from "A" to B1 of PIR sensor light switch"

these connections seem correct.. the switch may have gone however.or the light..

first thing you do is put the live wire in the light to the LS terminal.. this bypasses the PIR..

if the lamp then lights, the PIR is duff..

if not then the lamp itself is duff or the switch is..

to see if it's the switch check the terminals for voltage using a multimeter.. or connect a lamp pendant to the L and N terminals at the light..

how many times have people asked can i connect a light to the existing switch?

yes the op says neutral to neutral, but no mention of a neutral in the switch
