Hi

My dear old mum lives in a high rise. Local council replacing all main doors with FD60 rated timber doors. As a home owner in the block, mum has the option to not have this door installed should she so wish.

She's keen to have a FD60 rated door installed however the (only option) design offered by the council isn't overly appealing to her. They are requesting circa £2k to supply & fit.

I've had a quick look on Google for alternatives (to give mum different design options) however whilst there are lots of FD30 rated doors to choose from, FD60 designs seem a lot more limited.

Do any of you know of a UK supplier of timber and/or composite external doors rated to FD60 that offer a few different designs? Also, is it reasonable to assume the price to supply & fit will be close to the £2k council cost or likely to be a fair bit more expensive?

The requirement would be for a 30 minute door not 60 minute.

Contractors are charging between £500 and £800 fitted, for a standard plain FD 30s door here in the Midlands.

Hi Woody thanks for the reply. Yeah the requirement is 30 but mum would like a 60. Only thing is the available designs seem a lot less!
