I had a 203x203x86kg steel fabricated.

In the web are 4 holes- they attach another steel at a T join. The absolute idiots drilled them 100mm out of place. I realised after lumping the 500kg weight round the back.

The company said they will re-drill the holes on site. I said, what about the existing - surely it won't be passed leaving the 4 others open? They obviously said it will be ok!! Would this be acceptable?

I don't think 4 holes is going to weaken a 203 x 203 UC 86kg/metre!

common problem with structural steels....holes in the wrong place.
