i am going to put an en-suite shower in the main bedroom, the nearest outside wall will be the front of the house , are you allowed to have an extractor fan duct to the front of the house?
or should it go up thru the roof?

You can put it where you like.

But whether it will be more aesthetically pleasing/unobtrusive as a soffit or tile vent is something to consider
