Extractor fan in Zone 1

Have bought an IP45 rated bathroom fan to replace a non compliant one in bathroom
The electrician I got in to fit it says its not up to to code and needs to be a SELV one .
Have the reg's changed again coz I thought it was fine as long as on a 30ma RCD as well, and I have RCBO's on all circuits in the house since CU was changed a few months back

Allowed in zone 1 and always has been. Nothing has changed.

Maybe he feels that they should also be SELV ...

Now ... 10.5 kW at 12V equates to what current (and hence conductor size) ?
