Extractor Fan

Hi,

Am really sorry if this is answered somewhere else, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I am replacing an extractor fan. The old one came on when the light was switched on, and then carried on for about a 5 minutes after. I've bought a new one with a time also. Should be like for like. However, I've taken down the old one and the wires go into L1, L and N. The new one has Neutral, Switched Live, and Permanent Live. I assume N and Neutral are the same, but can't work out which one of L1 and L are Switched Live and Permanent Live.

Anyone able to help at all?
