Got meself a conduit bender - anybody recommend any good on-line resources on techniques?

There was a bit of a guide coljack did a while back, best bet is to get a piece of conduit and have a play.

Second hand best where some one else has worked out how much to over bend by and marked with hack saw.

It is s/h - don't think there are any marks on the former though.

Did you get a Hilmore shorty

Try your local wholesalers, many have old black enamel , lying around in the yard.

Too rusty for them to sell, but too big for them to dispose off.
They may sell it cheap, ideal to practise on.

The best way is to mark the conduit, pull a few bends, measure the under or over, note it and add or subtract from your measures each time.

Spooky - I knew about that, but couldn't remember the details. I did remember that the same seller also did ⅜ drive bush spanners etc, so I planned, when I had a bit of time, to search for him on eBay, then post the details here and ask if anybody knew if the info he's selling was any good...

Got my own kitchen radials to practice on, thanks all the same.

Can't decide, for an internal corner, whether to wimp out and use inspection elbows or try to do two 90° bends in orthogonal planes....

What, so you drop vertically down (or up), then immediately go horizontal, and then round the corner of the room?

I've done some pretty intricate work with a pipe-bender and copper pipe - I would think a conduit bender and steel is much the same, just needs a bit more oomph to bend it.

If you can do a 180-degree bend in steel conduit, I should think there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do two 90-degrees without problems.

The run is essentially horizontal, but I would need to go vertical just after the corner, so I could do a 90° on one wall then another on the one at right angles to it.

If you can do a 180-degree bend in steel conduit, I should think there's no reason you shouldn't be able to do two 90-degrees without problems.

Just need to plan what do do about the conduit sticking out at a right angle while I'm trying to form the 2nd bend.

And then there's the minor ( ) issue of there being 3 runs of conduit in parallel.

I'm starting to think that I should put the idea in the box labelled "too hard right now"....

Its most likely the same documents I have from my C&G 2330 level 2 practical stuff - if I can gain access to a scanner I can mail it to you.
