Now unfortunately got 3 Ideal Isar/Icos with leaking main HE. Only 4 years old all of them

Ideal don't want to know (as expected).

How much longer have the paying public got to put up with this crap manufacturer.

Luckily I haven't fitted these, but I still find it embarrassing

Ideal deserve to go out of business I think :x

As long as mugs like you are willing to repair them.

Take the money & run, that`s what most ``breakdown engineers`` do.

Ideal deserve to go out of business I think

If they did, monkeys like you would soon be out of a job.

WHY WHY WHY Dave, why get involved in them in the first place the minute people mention them just say sorry i don`t touch them try BG or Ideal for a fixed price repair (ok heatexchanger may not be but why clear others shi#e) they are not worth the hassle even if the job is a good payer.

I agree Bamber, but the part you are missing is that I WON'T fix them.

Let Ideal sort out the mess they have left the customers in

Technically, nobody has to put up with them, they only haven't gone out of business because people keep buying them, if everyone moved elsewhere they'd disappear overnight

Just what I have done namsag.

All I've done is quote for a replacement boiler on each of them. NOT Ideal I hasten to add :x

From what I can ascertain, the only ones keeping Ideal in business are Warmfront and we all know what they're like. 2 peas in a pod is the expression that springs to mind   :x

slowly(far too slowly) the warmfront scheme is being exposed for the complete scam that it is. When it finally gets sorted, I think ideal will be a gonna. All the traditionally rubbish manufacturers have all swallowed there pride and invested in the gianonni revolution. Ideal are on some other planet when it comes to R&D.

not to worry dave, some good weight in them ideal heat exchangers... get a few bob down the scrap yard

Remember going to a very new town house on Christmas Eve last year and telling the customer I would order parts for his leaking isar and leave him cold over Christmas. It was under a year old.
Drove past a couple of weeks ago and saw 2 BG install vans on the drive. Had a job to go there yesterday and expected to see something decent replacing the eyesore...... no another Isar. Thought that we had probably changed it under contract but no..... he paid £3.5K for it and when I asked him why Ideal he explained that it was the only boiler that would fit in the compartment.

Will these people ever learn

The problem this time was a system fault on the UFH so I walked

I hate Ideal cos there boilers are sh*it, I also hate them because they are made by an English company so they are bound to be shi*t, The only thing England is good for these days is sucking America`s a*sshole. The weather here is sh*it also. ( I`m English ). (So is my boiler & my car which are equally sh*it).

F*uck it. I`m off to France. Do they stink of onions???

Yes, and garlic

Rather be in your bar in Spain

I thought Ideal were now owned by an American company, and that they are up for sale with no takers at present

I wonder why :?

Dream on mate, it`s full of English people & totally corrupt. I don`t mind the corruption it`s the Brit`s on holiday I can`t stand. Big white fat bas*tards & that`s the women....  :D :D

I have yet to be called to an Icos/Isar with a leaking main HE.

The more unreliable a boiler is then the more diagnosis/repair jobs that I get so it is no problem for me.

It is disapointing though that a British company can manage so many unreliable designs like the Response and Icos/Isar.

Ideal were until a few years ago very well supported by British Gas installations!
