Hi there

I have the misfortune to have an ideal Isar HE24 combi boiler. I opened the airing cupboard door today and found it was leaking heavily. I removed the front cover and base cover and the leak looks to be coming from the black plastic with red front compnent which is located at the bottom left hand side of the boiler (just above the pressure guage. There is a manufactured hole on the bottom of the part and water appears to be leaking from it.

Any ideas the boiler is 2 years old ?

sounds like prv, whats pressure gauge showing, prv should be piped to outside

looks like the numpty installer did pipe the pressure relief pipe AT ALL

oh dear

you need a new prv and it needs to be piped outside pronto

also you may need to pump up the ol expansion vessel

I take it a PRV is a pressure release valve ? I know nothing about boilers.

Its a 2 year old David Wilson house I hope the boilers installed properly !!!!!!!! As properly as the plastering has been done more likely :)

If its left hand side at bottom do you mean the red square box beside the pcb? This is the diverter valve. Red ones were fitted to some of these.

PRV is on right isn't it
