Good morning all,

I am looking at getting some plastering done, I would try myself but the last attempt was, well, miserable! Some of the area is being boarded and skimmed and some is wet plastering as follows:

Total Board and skim area = 23m sq. This includes a ceiling which is 12.26m sq.

Total wet plaster area = 21.4m sq which is 2 walls.

The guy is also removing two wooden pillars from the bottom of my staircase which are attached to the walls and making good. (staircase is enclosed by two walls and used to have doors either side at the bottom)

A contact at the national housing association says board and skim should be £23m2 and wet plaster £11m2 (inc materials) Which comes in at £770 + the work on the stairs.

I have though been quoted £1200. Is my contact giving me cheap prices or is £1200 right or even a bargain?

Apologies for the long windedness, I have very little idea on the cost of this stuff!

£1200 was based on 2 guys taking 2 days to do the boarding and 2 guys taking 2 & 1/2 days to skim.

Many thanks in advance!

should probably have mentioned that its £1200 + VAT

And also was having 4 men to do it necessary?

thank you

Not overly excessive, imo.

The sq/m prices your contact used are irrelevant on small jobs like this.
