Falklands

You don't see any similarities? An island far away from the UK filled with people who think they are British Citizens that we decided to hand over to the neighbouring power?
Sounds like Argentina full of Welsh,Spaniards and Nazis , speaking Spanish

The Falkland Islanders have a right to self determination. At the last count which I believe was in 2006 they voted to remain British with 99.6% of the vote.

Anyone who thinks they are not British needs to go and spend some time there.
So if there was a load of asylum seekers who voted to be British we'd have to accept them?

Of course not. They're not really British. Islanders are British saying we want to remain British.
We've removed citizenship for people before. Or let them stay British and repatriate them, we've done that before loads of times

The thing I'm trying to say is that there is no must here.

We don't have to keep the Falklands, we've sold similar things to other nations before.

We don't have to treat them like equal citizens to British people, they've only had that since the Falklands war anyway.

Just because they voted that they want to remain British doesn't mean we have to keep the island for them. They can keep their citizenship and we could negotiate dual citizenship for them with Argentina. There's precedent.

We choose to keep the Falklands and spend the small fortune it costs financially to defend them. They're pretty much the only reason to have any aircraft carriers anymore after all.

It's very simple.

Starmer, in his treachery and fever dream pursuit of a communist utopia has lost the Falkland Islands for the U.K.

Spin that 180 snd blame Trumpf. I suppose he (or his predecessors) was/were to blame for American independence too.

The Falklands war was a 'clean war' between two peer rivals.
A war between two armies, no indigenous peoples at risk.
The British won fairly according to the rules of war.
The Argentines should leave it at that.

I don't normally care two hoots for our royal family - but I do feel sorry for charlie boy having to go and meet this utter fruit Cake.

the western world is now being run by a total nutter, it would be funny if it was not so serious
to me a fruitcake is different /interesting /strange /unpredictable even a bit unnerving but never dangerous or lacking in concern for justice and human life

It's just a silly idea floated by geriatric Trump as his dementia worsens.

He wants to be nasty to the Brits who don't support his military adventure.

He hopes that bullying will work where insults didn't.
