Fan Advice

i have just taken off my kitchen fan to clean it and have noticed that it was fitted with the fan wheel at the front (sort of upside down)

Does this mean it has not been extracting for all these years?

Also the exit hole is at an angle going diagonally upwards. Should I straighten this hole or will it still extract ok ?

Maybe its just the design and it has been extracting correctly. Have you tried the simple test of switching extractor on and holding a piece of paper to the outlet - if it sticks you are ok

Do not think that the angle of the hole should affect extraction, however I would suggest that either straight or slightly downwards would be better to allow any moisture to drip outside and prevent water ingress from outside.
