Triumph Dolomite

I had one of these in 1979 and mechanically it was a real pig but I still loved it. Has anyone else got fond memories of their first cars?

I used to work on Triumphs in those days at a main dealers. I liked the way they looked. TR6, GT6 etc. The dolomite sprint was quick off the mark, but as squeaky found out they were a bit crappy mechanically.

Don't know how to post pics so i'll just tell you.....

I then 'bought' my dads Triumph Vitesse off him, a beauty in racing green...I never did pay him for it bless him :)

I was a late comer to cars due to a misspent childhood on 650 Beezas, going down to the Ayr ice rink for a spot of mod bashing.

Then in 76 i got a VW Variant which was quickly replaced by a v6 2ltr Capri, i came back to the UK with a mk1 Granada coupe, 2.6 v6 (never made in this country) it was good, but my best car of all time SDV458X a Fiat 131 Sport (a go cart with a 2 ltr engine) in Fiat racing red :? which was orange to everybody else.
