Hi all,

I’m a plumber based in Scotland and I’ve been building a tool in my spare time called PlumbSnap.

The idea is to help people when they’re stuck with a plumbing part, fitting or fault and are not sure what it’s called, what to search for, or what needs checked before buying.

It can be used by trades, but I’m also really interested in feedback from DIY users as well.

The aim is simple:

Upload a photo or describe the issue, and PlumbSnap tries to help with:

What the part or system likely is
What to check before buying
Common mistakes to avoid
Better search wording for merchant websites
Basic fault-finding routes if you’re trying to work out what’s wrong

It covers things like toilets, taps, wastes, traps, showers, radiators, valves, drainage and general plumbing/heating bits.

It also has a built in Plumbing support tool that can assist with Fault-finding issues.

It’s still early and I’m still making improvements daily.

I’m looking for honest feedback from both trades and DIY users on whether it’s actually useful, what feels confusing, and where it gets things wrong.

Cheers,
Jamie
