Feeling Hot?

One day there is going to be a disaster arising from the dodgy advice handed out by sheds.
I happened to be walking down the electrics aisle of my local B&Q Warehouse the other day (I didn't buy anything, honest! :) ) and I heard someone asking a young lad in the orange uniform about the suitability of a particular device (could have been a switch, I didn't pay much attention). The lad said "I'm afraid I can't give you any advice - you need an electrician for that, and we haven't got one on duty at the moment"

I was somewhat impressed - they are obviously taking it a bit more seriously than they used to!

Incidentally, in the USA they don't seem to have the local "Trade Counter" type electrical supplier like we do - Home Depot (also in orange livery) seems to be the professional sparks' supplier of choice. Perhaps because the little suppliers have been driven out of business - I don't know!

Cheers,

Howard

'tis rumoured, (but denied) that HD are talking to Kingfisher about a takeover (HD buying them). Maybe it's the colour thing...

If it means that the shelves at B&Q are stocked to the same standard as Home Depot, I hope they do!

It annoys me immensely when you go to, say, the bolts bins to find that most of the stuff is in the wrong bins, and it takes ten minutes to find four the same of anything! Somehow in the US they don't seem to get this.

Cheers,

Howard
